Zipp/Zipp Mini - Alternative Wi-Fi setup (Mac, iOS, Android)

Here is how to set up your speaker directly from your Mac, iOS or Android.

Mac computer

  1. Ensure your speaker is in setup mode (activated out of the box). Setup mode is signalled by a side-by-side blinking signal on the Touch Interface. If you need to activate setup mode manually, click here
  2. On your Mac, open Wi-Fi
  3. Select your speaker (i.e. LibratoneZipp300763 300763) in "New AirPlay speaker"
  4. Check that Network is your preferred network and press "Next"
  5. You will hear an audio cue when setup is done
  6. Press "Done"
  7. Your speaker is now connected to your Wi-Fi and ready to be played

iOS (iPhone, iPad)

  1. Ensure your speaker is in setup mode (activated out of the box). Setup mode is signalled by a side-by-side blinking signal on the Touch Interface. If you need to activate setup mode manually, click here
  2. On your iOS device, open "Settings" + "Wi-Fi"
  3. In "Set up new airplay speaker” select your speaker (ie. LibratoneZipp300763 300763)
  4. Check that Network is your preferred network and press "Next"
  5. You will hear an audio cue when setup is done
  6. Press "Done"
  7. Your speaker is now connected to your Wi-Fi and ready to be played 

Android 

  1. Ensure your speaker is in setup mode (activated out of the box). Setup mode is signaled by a side-by-side blinking signal on the Touch Interface. If you need to activate setup mode manually, click here
  2. On your Android device, open "Settings" + "Wi-Fi"
  3. Select your speaker (ie. LibratoneZipp300763 300763)
  4. Open a web browser and enter 192.168.1.1
  5. Press the menu button up on the right hand side
  6. Select "Setup"
  7. Select "Wi-Fi" Network
  8. Enter "Wi-Fi" Password and press "Apply settings"
  9. After reboot your speaker will be connected to your home Wi-Fi network ready to be played

    This doesn't work for my Mac. On step 5 the Airport Utility app hangs while waiting for the speaker, and eventually shows the message "An unexpected error occurred" (MacOS 10.15.6 on a MacBook Pro). The Zipp does not show up in System Preference / Sound / Output, but it does show up on my iPhone on the same wifi network.
